چکیده

• The genesis of intrinsic vascular smooth muscle activity and its role in the local control of tissue blood flow has been the source of considerable controversy, particularly in regard to the mechanism underlying autoregulation of blood flow. The phenomenon of autoregulation has been reported for several vascular beds including kidney, intestine,' 4 brain, and heart. A number of investigators '• " have confirmed the early observations of Bayliss who reported autoregulation in skeletal muscle. It has also been demonstrated that the blood vessels of muscle, under certain circumstances, may behave as a relatively rigid or as a passively distensible hydraulic system."'• 8 ' 1 4 ' 1 5 The present experiments were undertaken to determine the relationship between blood flow and perfusion pressure in skeletal muscle of the dog under controlled conditions, in an effort to assess the relative importance of factors contributing to autoregulation and to describe the conditions under which autoregulation is demonstrable.

Role of resistance training with the approach of blood flow restriction in skeletal muscle cell growth

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the response of ERK1/2 protein and muscular morphological adaptations to a period of resistance training with local blood flow restriction. Materials and methods: Twenty healthy male Wistar rats without clinically evident disease (5 weeks old, 120±7 g weight) were divided into four equal groups: control, control with limited blood flow...

Effect of Aerobic Exercise with Blood Flow Restriction on Mitochondrial Dynamics Proteins of Human Skeletal Muscles

Background: Aerobic exercise with Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) plays an important role in skeletal muscle adaptation; however, the effects of this type of exercise on mitochondrial dynamics proteins are unclear. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise with and without BFR on mitochondrial dynamics proteins of human skeletal muscles.  Methods: Pa...

Responses of Peripheral Blood Flow to Acute Hypoxia and Hyperoxia as Measured by Optical Microangiography

Oxygen availability is regarded as a critical factor to metabolically regulate systemic blood flow. There is a debate as to how peripheral blood flow (PBF) is affected and modulated during hypoxia and hyperoxia; however in vivo evaluating of functional PBF under oxygen-related physiological perturbation remains challenging. Microscopic observation, the current frequently used imaging modality f...

The Effects of Eight Weeks High Intensity Intermittent Training and Blood Flow Restricted on Angiogenic Markers of Muscle in Male Runners

Background. Due to the lack of sufficient information about the interactive effects of high intensity intermittent training (HIIT) and blood flow restricted (BFR) exercises on angiogenic variables of skeletal muscle, it seems that integration these training models can influence skeletal muscle angiogenesis in the long term over the individual application of each of these training methods. Obje...

b-Adrenergic regulation of lipolysis and blood flow in human skeletal muscle in vivo

Hagström-Toft, Eva, Staffan Enoksson, Erik Moberg, Jan Bolinder, and Peter Arner. b-Adrenergic regulation of lipolysis and blood flow in human skeletal muscle in vivo. Am. J. Physiol. 275 (Endocrinol. Metab. 38): E909–E916, 1998.— Little is known about the regulation of catecholaminestimulated lipolysis in human skeletal muscle. Therefore, b-adrenergic regulation of lipolysis and blood flow was...
